Watching a Friends Dog

OK, a couple I know asked if I would watch their dog for them while they go on their honeymoon. I said OK because I have the same type of dog and I figured they could play all day. They leave for their honeymoon Friday, January 4 and come back January 12. Well, they dropped the dog last night, and since the owners had left the dog has managed to, piss on the couch, piss on the fridge and table, bark all night, and get a neighbor to complain. So all of this happened the first night; now they haven't left for their honeymoon yet, so I’m wondering, am I an asshole if I call them and tell them they need to find a different place for the dog to stay? I’ll drive it to wherever it needs to go so they don't have to be inconvenienced. I just don't want the dog to wreck all my stuff I have worked so hard to get. But my question is, is that a dick thing to do?

Do you get paid what you should?

My question is does your company pay you what they agreed to pay you, because mine doesn't. About two months ago my boss said there were all these unused hours on the contract my team works on and that if anyone could help make up these hours they would be compensated. After asking what the compensation was my boss finally said for the extra time you work you will be paid at whatever the hourly rate of your salary is.

For the last month and a half, I've been putting lots of extra hours and my boss hasn't compensated me AT ALL. NOT EVEN A F@CKING THANK YOU. So I talked to her about this and she claims she never said the company would compensate us (me), which is the biggest load of sh!t I've ever heard.

I Really need advice, what do you think I should do?

How often should a young couple have sex during a week?

How often do you have sex in a week? Here is an article from WikiAnswers.com do you agree?

A young couple can have sex almost every day for one or two times, it is natural.

Different opinions from WikiAnswers contributors:

A young couple can have sex almost every day for one or two times, it is natural.

  • My fiance and I are both in our mid twenties, and we seem to have sex 5-6 times daily, or until she is sore. I think it brings us closer together. If we fight, we end up in bed 30 minutes later. I think you should have sex as much as you want. It can't be bad. Only good things could come of it.

  • As many times as they want. There is no right number for everyone. If you are both happy, then it's the right number for you.

  • My husband & I are in that aPublish Postge group exactly & we have sex 3 to 4 times a week. But we have also been married for 10 years. If we did not have kids it would probably be more but nobody has the exact same sex life. So whatever number of times ya'll want then it's right.

  • My opinion is that if you're 25-30 and you don't have sex at least twice a week there may be an unforseen or undetermined problem, I think this also applies all the way up until (male or female) you get around 40.

  • I feel that if ur partner dosent want sex as often as u there is problem. A small descrepance is normal, however if ur sexual needs arnt being met then i sugest moving on or seek advice from a doctor or simular person.

  • They should be having sex as often as they want it and can accommodate it during the week.

  • Um.... say.... 20 times?? ;-) As much as you want, and if you like it, the more the better. A problem only arises when one wants way more or less than the other.

  • A couple should have sex enough times so that neither of them feels unsatisfied.

  • My boyfriend and I have sex 7-10 times a week, it doesn't matter as long as your both happy.

  • Average couples have sex every 2 to 4 days. Some couples have sex daily. Some couples have sex only every other week. There is a wide variation.

  • The average time a couple should have a sex in a week is entirely up to the individual couple. However,I think a healthy couple should have sex atleast every two days. Sex helps couples live longer, is a great stress reliever, and brings the couple closer to one another. But the most important thing is not the sex itself, but the time taken to create a harmonious atmosphere so that both couples feel relaxed and can enjoy their sexual experience.

  • I think these answers are way out of line---4 times a week with kids-- I think most couples would tell you that after the age of 30, sex once a week is about it. However, if you feel like having sex everyday--thats how often you should have sex

  • i am a young couple :) Im 21 and my husband is 22 we have sex atlest once a day if we can...and if IM not in the mood i will do other things to please him. I also do other things if I am on that wonderful week of my menstrual cycle...hah! So yea its really good to have sex all you can because it really helps you stay close to your partner and besides if your pleasing eachother then you both dont have to worry about them looking for it else where. Keep them satisfied and they will come back for more.

  • Me and my boyfriend are both 20 and we have been together for almost 2 years. We used to have sex 3 times a day but wound up hurting ourselves lol, now we've slowed it down to 2 or 1 times a day. And I'm with the other girl..during that time of the month we still manage to have sex in different places..We aren't nymphos either..and I think our high sex drives keep us in that "lusty" part of love where you just can't get enough of the person.

  • WHATEVER WORKS FOR the both of you. If one of you wants often and other does not, TALK about it TOGETHER. COMMUNICATION is the key. If you BOTH want it 20 times a week, thats normal. If BOTH want it once a week, THAT'S normal. It is a private personal choice. If you don't agree, seek counselling, also one should never pressure the other or make them feel guilty. Do what is agreeable and feels good!!
  • What is your definition of young? My boyfriend is 48 and I am 42. We have sex at least 4 times a day. Granted, he travels a lot, but when he is in town, we will do it that often for a few weeks straight.
  • I am 20 and i have sex 10 times a day when i want to (i normally want to about 4 days a week) when im not really in the mood me and my boyfriend have sex about 4 times a day. our sex normally lasts about 20 mins

As many times as you want to go for it, go for it. Its a personal thing, nothing to do with set rules or anything, when the mood takes you both, then do it, if it doesnt, then fine. If all other aspects of your relationship are good, then theres nothing to worry about.

Bad Parenting

OK, I'm at a pizza place last night picking up dinner for my girlfriend and me. I'm standing in line and some 11-12 year old kids are playing around being kind of loud and rude. Whatever it's a pizza joint doesn't really matter. So, one of these kids has a super ball on a string and he's playing with it. Now I'm at the register paying for my dinner, and I something hit me hard in the back of the head, so I whip around, knowing fully knowing I'd just been smacked with the super ball in the back of my head. Well, when I turn around to say something to the kid, the mother is standing next to him. Before I could even open my mouth, this crusty old bitch says, "Well what do you expect he’s a kid."

There are very few times in my life I've been speechless and this would be one of them. I mean is she serious? I wanted to say I expect you to have some control over your kid. If I had turned around and she said "oh my gosh I'm so sorry," I would have been pissed but fine because at least she said she's sorry (for her kid). I don’t know if it was the way I was raised, but when I was a kid I would never dream of misbehaving while I was in public with either of my parents. I'm not a parent so I don’t know how my parents taught me to be like this. So long and short of the story is when I left the pizza place I don’t know if I was angrier at the kid for hitting me with the super ball or the mom for what she said.

Is it me or has parenting gone downhill?

DC Road Rage

Today, some asshole threw a full cup of coffee at my car while driving on the DC beltway. My crime? I don't know, maybe following the car in front of me? Being on the planet? I just really not sure.

Boss is nice but condescending b*tch

At my job, I started working two days a week for a different department, so I have a new lady I have to report too. I've only met her a few times and I already think she's a bitch. Now she never says things that are specifically mean but it's the way she speaks to me. It's in the most condescending and belittling tone I've ever heard. It's like I'm a f*cking idiot. The way she talks is like why the F*ck didn't you know what I was thinking. And it's not just me she speaks to like that, it's everyone on the team.

Now my question is do I say something to her or do I let her continue talking to me like that?

Out with the Old in with the New

While sitting at work it's becoming quite apparent that some people should just retire. I mean yes I understand this person has put in 20+ years of hard work, and they deserve to get their kudos for that. But they have fallen so far behind the technology curve, that I end up having to do their job. The Company created a special custom part in the input system for them AND THEY STILL CAN'T GET IT RIGHT!

I've sat down with this person on numerous occasions and have explained I them how to update images, pages, ect on the companies website. I've even given them a printout with step by step instructions. Basic edits nothing complex. But every time they edited something, they fuck that page up, and then come running to me to fix it. It would be one thing if this happened once a week or something like that, but it's almost every fucking day. And heaven forbid I make a mistake doing their work, you’d think I just started World War III.

I feel I should either get a pay bump for now doing two jobs, or that this old timer should retire and the company should fill the position with a younger person who knows what the hell they are doing.

Am I right or am I way off base?

Fire drills at work

So my office has been having fire drills at least once a month, probably more but I’ll give them once a month. Now, we are all adults, do they not think we will be able to find the exit in case of an emergency? To me, fire drills are good for kids in school but to have them so frequently is in my mind is a little ridiculous. The fire drill completely halts any productivity your office was having, because now when the people come back from the fire drill they're going to be talking about how dumb it was for a while and that it was such a waste of time. Do you time monthly fire drills are overkill?

Do you pick the city to live in or does the city pick you

I was thinking, do people pick a city to live in or near and then find a job in that city or does the job pick the city for them. In my case, I moved to the DC area to be with my fiancée and found a job there. But I know friends who lived in places then got a job offer in a different city, so they moved based on there job. I know there are different factors for everyone, but over all I wonder why people end up in the cities they do.

Finding a Job

Why is it finding a job is so hard? Yes the Economy, blah blah blah blah… I mean it took me almost 8 months to find my current job after I graduated and the economy was "booming" then.

The reason I bring this up is I talked to a good friend who moved out to LA, and he can not find a job. He's a hard worker, a great guy and did I mention he graduated top of his class from Villanova University. He got two years of work experience working at two PR firms in Philadelphia. And despite all this no one will give him a chance. He has work experience, he has a degree, he's small, and so what’s the problem? I can’t figure it out.

Is Working From Home More or Less Productive

At my job, I have the opinion of working from home 1 or 2 days a week. I'm trying to figure out if it's more or less productive for me to work from home, rather than in the office.

While I'm working at home I feel like I finish my tasks more quickly and more efficiently than I do in the office. But when I'm in the office and I finish my work, there is always work to be done. So the quantity of work I do is higher in the office with the same quality I always have. There are more distractions at home, TV, Dog, Guitars, Ect.. While in the office all I can do is surf the web… I feel like I have almost reached the end of it.

So here is my breakdown of the Pros and Cons
The Upsides of working at home are:
1. Quiet/uninterrupted work time: great for work requiring concentration such as systems testing, writing specifications & documentation, analysis and ANY writing
2. Save $$$ (gas, train, dry-cleaning, etc)
3. Avoid commute (time, $$, better for the environment)
4. Comfort: pajamas, speedo Jr.
5. Extra sleep (better health!)
6. Can run errands at lunch
7. Schedule doctors appts on telework day and take less time off work to get to/from and more flexibility to work earlier or later hours to accommodate such appointments
8. Schedule home repair and delivery – no need to take off work
9. Pets – not home alone all day
Downsides
1. A lots of Distractions
2. No Human interaction
3. Being able to keep your focus.
4. When you run out of work, you're finished… Good for you bad for the Company
5. Repair people coming, always causes you to loose your focus
6. Bed / couch doesn't make the better work environment
7. Phone Calls
8. You’re able to surf the sites that are blocked at work!
9. Naps, good for you bad for the company

What do you think?

Driving in the Snow

To to Left is a picture from google traffic, two hours after I got to work... The chaos on the roads remain…
After driving to work today I came to the realization that people around here don't know how to drive in the snow (more like flurries). Now don't get me wrong, if the roads are bad I think people should drive with more caution BUT today there was no reason to be driving overly cautious. It wasn't really "snowing" just more like moderate flurries. The snow was not sticking to the road, so they were just wet. And as of when I got to work there was less than an inch of snow on the ground. But the reason I'm annoyed is, my commute is roughly 20 miles and it took me two and a half hours to get to work. TWO AND A HALF HOURS! My car calculates your trips average speed, mine 9 MPH. Again please don't get me wrong, I don't think people should close there eyes and hit the gas and I could understand that if it was snowing hard or snow was on the road or if it was icy or a bad accident but none of this was the case. Do you think there is anyway around people driving like idiots during bad weather?

Extra hours, maybe some compensation…

Is it right for your boss to ask you to work extra hours because other people on your team didn't work those hours? So you have all the facts, this is from the email my boss sent me, "There are a whole bunch of unused hours on the contract you work for. Would you be able to work some extra hours every week? The company might be able to compensate your extra time in the form of a bonus but it depends on revenue."

Personally, I think it is fine for my boss to ask me to work extra hours, but she can't get pissed if I choose not to accept. I mean they underpay (I feel) as is and asking me to take on extra hours with the potential for a bonus… I'd rather be broke.

Do you feel you are underpaid?
